Application for a Carnet de Passages en Douane

The Application process for a Carnet de Passages en Douane (CPD) will take you between 5 - 10 minutes to complete.

  1. You will need to provide all the information requested on the application fields in order to complete the application process.

  2. You have the choice of uploading documents as part of the Online Application process, or you can choose to provide these to the Issuing Organization at a later stage when requested to do so by them.

  3. If you do choose to upload documents during the application process, you will then need to upload the following documents:

    (The following file formats are acceptable - .jpg; .jpeg; .png; .gif or PDF – with a maximum size of 5MB).
    • Drivers licence (front and back of valid driver’s licence)
    • Passport or ID (front and back of valid passport or National ID Document)
    • Copy of vehicle registration papers if applying for a CPD for a vehicle; or
    • Copy of trailer / caravan registration papers if applying for a CPD for a trailer / caravan
    • (Please note: if the vehicle or trailer / caravan is not owned by the applicant, then a letter of Authority from the owner of the vehicle must be provided)
  4. Once you have submitted your application online, the Issuing Organization will be in contact with you, to finalise documentation, and arrange for the payment of the CPD Fee’s, and the Security Deposit, as specified on the Issuing Organization’s website.

  5. You will need to tick the "Terms & Conditions" box to proceed with your online application.


Upon completion and submission of your application, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your application, as well as contact details of the Issuing Authority. The data collected through the application form will be processed electronically by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) based in Geneva, Switzerland but may be transferred to a destination inside or outside the European Economic Area (EEA) only for logistical and organizational purposes. The data is collected by the FIA as part as an application for a Carnet de Passages en Douane and will be kept as long as necessary for the purpose of collection.
